Long before organic produce filled the shelves of neighborhood groceries, the dedicated team at Bonterra was committed to organic and Biodynamic farming because they passionately believe that farms teeming with biodiversity— encompassing vines, insects and wildlife, and healthy soils—yield organic grapes leading to better wines.

Named for the “Devil’s Cellar,” where coveted wines were fiercely protected in the 19th Century, Casillero del Diablo was founded in the heart of Chile’s famed Maipo Valley in 1966. Don Melchor is a legacy wine from Chile, first created in 1987 by the Guilisasti family of Concha y Toro, and named for their forefather in Chilean wine. A Cabernet Sauvignon of refinement and elegant character, Don Melchor represents a singular expression of the Puente Alto Vineyard in the upper Maipo Valley, overseen by winemaker Enrique Tirado. The seven parcels of Don Melchor are harvested independently to support more than 150 micro-vinifications in the cellar, each then tasted and selected for the final composition.

Don Melchor was the first wine to showcase Chile’s profound potential for quality, with an unparalleled record as a collector’s Cabernet Sauvignon. The second vintage of Don Melchor (1988) was the first Chilean wine to be named to Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of the World, where it has since placed nine times, including three placements in the Top 10. A global leader in crafting wine aged in bourbon barrels, 1000 Stories melds California’s winemaking heritage with America’s storied bourbon culture. Founded by Master Winemaker Bob Blue from renowned vineyards—including some of California’s most revered sites for old vines—1000 Stories is aged in traditional French and American oak, then finished in charred bourbon barrels to impart storied nuance and character to the wines.

Firmly grounded in the spirit of New World winemaking, Pinot Noir specialist Cono Sur reflects the incredible terroir of South America’s Southern Cone. Trivento Golden Reserve Malbec reflects the nuances of four micro-regions, bisected by the Mendoza River, within Luján de Cuyo. About half of the blend comes from Vistalba and Las Compuertas to the north of the river, while the other half represents Perdriel and Agrelo to the south. Malbec fruit is selected from small blocks on historic vineyards throughout these regions, where 60- to 100-year-old vines are tended by generations of family growers. The lots are fermented separately to allow the terroir of each place to leave its unique imprint on the final blend.

The confluence of elements that shape a vineyard ultimately shape the character of its wines. Nowhere is this more evident than in the iconic Eolo Vineyard in Luján de Cuyo, where some of Argentina’s oldest Malbec vines were planted over a century ago. The Fringe Collective veers from the proverbial beaten path, seeking uncommon vineyard sites to craft something entirely rare in the glass. By pursuing extreme growing conditions with formidable obstacles, Fringe Collective winemaker Sebastian Donoso transforms the incredible promise of challenging sites into layered, complex wines with great depth and character. The Collective includes Seafall Chardonnay, a vivid interpretation of the sandy earth, rolling fog and late-ripening vines of the western Sonoma Coast, and Rockbound Pinot Noir, a supple, mineral-focused wine grown among shale-strewn soils in the Santa Maria Valley’s Bien Nacido Vineyards.
